Omaha

The last weekend in May, the whole family took a trip to Omaha. My mom and dad, Heath, Jena, Brynn, Jerry, Me, and Izabell, all met Tonya, Joe, Joci, & Byron up there. We drove up Friday morning and left Sunday. It was very short. It was about a 4-5 hour trip for all of us. We went to the Children's Museum and to the Omaha Zoo. The kids had so much fun, some of them were crying on Sunday when we had to leave. Joci loved the gorillas and the meerkats. She kept saying, "Oh, he's so cute. He looks like my daddy, weeters." (which is their orange tabby cat, Peters...haha)
Byron loved the fire truck. He wouldn't get off.

The girls in the wagon, which was a brillant idea, by my sister. Byron, I believe was in the other one fast asleep.
At the Children's Museum, there was a play area were the kids could go and dress in costumes and perform a play or some kind of act. They just dressed up and were chasing each other around. It was very comical and a good place to sit and relaxed while they acted. Izabell wanted to dress up as a unicorn. I think it's alittle small, but she didn't mind.
At the Zoo, we brought some ice chests and lunch meet. We sat at some of the picnic areas and ate lunch. There were birds walking around that the kids were trying to feed. Instead of just throwing the food and letting the bird eat, they would throw it and then chase the bird to every spot he was eating. Naturally, the bird finally gave up and went away. I think I would too, with four monkeys chasing me. Byron was slowing behind all the girls.

The Children's Museum was pretty awesome. Jerry loved the science part. The kids like the air machine. Byron kept trying to catch the balls as they went up in the air. He was just alittle too short.
Izabell had fun on the swing pulley. She used those skinny arms and made her way to the top!!
We had the kids sit down and make a funny face before we left. Byron didn't like the idea of sitting too much. I think I got one with him in it that he sat still for about 2 secs.

Trampoline Fun!!

Tonya and Joe cam home for awhile in April and I voluteered to watch the kids. They had a blast jumping on the trampoline. (this was before the storm took it) They all had a blast. Mom ended up buying one for Joci and Byron for their birthdays because they loved it so much! Izzy is trying to see how high she can jump. Look at the hair. She says she wants to cut it off to her shoulders this summer. We'll see what happens. She did finally cut her bangs. Yah!! Joci was so worn out, but you can see Byron is ready to go. When isn't he??
All the girls....Izabell, Joci, and Brynn.....having girl time..hmmm...wondering where the boy is?!
How high can you go??
Uncle Heath and Byron having boy time. Look at those two thurds!!

May 8th Storm

We had a big storm come through on May 8. There were 90-100 mph winds. Columbus was out of school for about 2-3 days because the damage was so bad. Our house recieved about $7,000 in damages, including the trampoline as you can see. The insurance adjustor finally came about 3 weeks after. So now, we have a check to fix the house, but can't seem to find time to do it. Maybe next week. Izabell kept looking at the trampoline in the tree and saying, "Oh, it's not broken. I can still use it." LOL, but when we got it off the tree, it just all crumbled apart. Hopefully we will be getting her a new one soon and this time we will anchor it down with something.
Part of the damage to our roof. There was more on the other side, but this was the worst. The adjustor said it looked like someone had taken a crow bar up there and just started ripping shingles off in all different places. Well, at least we get a whole new roof now.

Thanks to my brother and Jena we got the yard cleaned up in about four hours from all the trees and limbs that had fallen. This picture isn't near the amount we had. We are still getting branches falling down from this last storm when we get high winds now. I guess there are a bunch left in the tops that we can't get right now.

Jerry taking a ride on the truck to our burn pile. I think we had to take about 5 trips or more. It was nice using Heath's big truck. Otherwise, it probably would have taken us alot longer than 4 hours.

Softball Games

Izabell has finished up with her softball games. She moved up to coach pitch this year and did a really good job. She still keeps talking about wanting to be a cheerleader, but her dad and I still aren't so sure. We may have to work on that one a bit..JK...LOL

Izzy and I started going to the library with Jena and Brynn. She has been reading almost every night so she can get prizes. Last Wednesday, she got a coupon for free ice cream at Sonic. She loves it. She read for one hour straight the other night and as you can see it wore her out:-)

Finally Pictures....

I finally took four rolls of film and got them developed yesterday. I'm hoping for a new digital camera that will make things faster (hint, hint, Jerry). Izabell took over the one that Cindy gave us, which is fine. She has a blast with it and we don't have to pay money to get her pictures developed, which is awesome. And since, I have to develop all the pictures I have alot for my scrapbooks, which is on my To Do list today, along with ten other things. So, hopefully I will be adding alot of pictures today if I can figure out how to do it...haha. Jerry is at basketball camp, Izzy is with her mom, and it is pouring down rain outside, so I figured it's time to get down to business.

I recently had about 10 inches cut off my hair for Locks of Love. http://www.locksoflove.org/ Here are some before and after pictures. I'm still trying to get use to it.

Before the hair cut...you can tell I was really needing one!!
Here our my two pigtails. My hair was so thick she had to make two of them to get the scissors through.

And........the new me!!!

The Beginning!!

I am just now learning how to do all this, so hopefully everything turns out ok. I'm teaching my self how to do this as I go so bare with me. My sister, my brothers girlfriend, and many friends all have blogs and I have found it a neat and easy way to keep in touch with everyone and to see what is going on in everyone's life. I will be getting some new pictures soon, so I will get those up and posted as soon as possible.
